Originally, I wanted to be able to allow rails to talk to flex so after some extensive research I’ve posted a cry for help on Rails’s Studio Mailing List and many people suggested that, since my original goal or use of flex were the charts, it would be much faster and better to simply use just a charts components previously built.
Following is the list of flash charts that can be seamlessly integrated in to your existing sites.

I’m a user (and fan) of ZiYa . One of it’s best features is the
ability to be customized. The underlying XML/SWF Charts allow you to
just draw on the canvas, so if the charting package doesn’t support
what you want, you can always draw it on yourself. We did that to
create a SemiLog scale chart.

I also use fusion charts (since I am a flash developer) and they are very nice
indeed. I think
AMcharts are a little better designed out-of-the-box though.
Names are listed in the order of how they were received on the list, I just went through all the messages in the thread one by one.

Open flash chart plugin for Rails it is based on the Open Flash Chart ( this is php version) flash. You can download source code from them to paly around with.
